Our action for sustainability & local involvement

•  Our 99% Bahian team received full training by the Villa Bahia.
•  During renovation, local Brasilian craftsmen were of big help : furniture and wooden objects come from a local restoration studio; vintage bathroom fittings, bathtubs and sinks were salvaged by a community of scrap metal merchants in Velhão.
•  Our staff uniforms were designed by students from the Salvador School of Design.
•  The food served in our restaurant – featuring mainly organic products - is purchased directly from local growers.

The Villa Bahia remains firmly committed to sustainability: water and electricity conservation, efficient irrigation and laundry systems, recycling in collaboration with a local co-operative, and the purchasing of environmentally friendly products - the Villa Bahia was the original source of these practices within the historical centre.
